18th annual governor's prayer breakfast
Subject

Description
First, we have the program of events for the 18th Annual Governor's Prayer Breakfast with John and Ramona Carlin, Governor and First Lady of Kansas, which was held March 27, 1979 at the Downtown Ramada Inn in Topeka, Kansas. Many officials for state of Kansas were speakers. The program also includes the text of 2 Bible passages (Deuteronomy 6:5 and John 13:34-35) and the lyrics to the song "America" (better known to some as "My country 'tis of thee"). We assume the handwritten notes on the program were written by Hesston's mayor, Milt Miller. Beside the choral prelude by "The Messengers Quartet", he wrote 'Silver Lake', and beside the Message by Mr. Gale Sayers, he wrote '"Responsibility" I Cor. 13:11'
We also have an invitation to the breakfast from Governor Carlin. From this, we learn that the breakfast was held at 7:15 a.m.
