Description

It appears that Hesston mayor Milt Miller was a speaker at a ceremony to commemorate the opening of the Hesston Municipal Golf Park on May 28, 1976. He saved his first season pass, a 5 inch red ribbon from the occasion, and 7 note cards for his speech. The speech notes include such tidbits as "a dream come true", "the idea was first put forth in the early 1960's", and a list of people to recognize (City Council members, steering committee, financial contributers, architects, former mayors, etc.). He closed by telling everyone they were invited to tour the facilities, picnic areas, hike & bike paths, club house, and pond.
