On June 11, 2010 at 6:30 pm, the Hesston Public Library (HPL) held a community BBQ and auction to raise money for a new building. People were invited to support the library and enjoy great food, catered and sponsored by Knackie's. The event was held in the Hesston College Church's Community Room. (Hesston Mennonite Church). Admission buttons could be purchased in advance for $1 per person at the following local businesses: A Cut Above, Central National Bank, Central Kansas Credit Union, Citizens State Bank, First Bank, Hesston Food Market, and Hesston Public Library. The flyer also includes the logo that was used for the fundraising effort, with the phrase "From Ordinary to... EXTRAORDINARY"
