The Hesston Public Library was started by the Hesston Women's Civic Club. It was housed in the City Building at 116 N. Main St. Shelved cabinets with screen doors were built and can be seen in photo [...] Mayor Bandy is giving a check to Yvonne King to be used in purchase of books. Seated at left an unidentified lady, and Goldie Weaver and Alma Pfautz; all were active in promoting the library. Photo approx. 1958. 80-3 -- back of photograph.
